Indicators was founded by late Dr. Durga Brata Roychoudhuri in the 1980s. Presently, our company functions as sister concerns under the name of 'Indicators Indo' and 'Filtrade'. We are the pioneer manufacturers of Indicator Paper, Solvent Reagents, Litmus Granules, and Filter Paper Circles and Sheets.
About Our Founder
How We Got Our Start
Our company was the brainchild of the renowned scientist Dr. Durga Brata Roychoudhuri. His educational qualifications include B.Sc. (Chem.), AIWM (London), and Diploma in Industrial Management (London). He completed his B.Sc. (Chem.) in the year 1962 and immigrated to England in the year 1967. Thereafter, he joined Johnson of Hendon, the famous manufacturer of Chemicals, Indicator Paper, and Litmus Granules, to serve his tenure as a Deputy Manager.
In the year 1973, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi invited all Indian Technocrafts to come to India and contribute to the industrial growth of their motherland. Soon he came back to India to start a small Laboratory at Uttarpara which to this day is known as the 'INDICATORS'.
He worked on breakthrough technology in the field of various Indicator Papers and after conducting relentless research for 12 years he became the first Indian who produced Litmus Granules from indigenous lichen in the year 1986. His invention was then honored by the Govt. of India with a Posthumous National Award on the 26th of January 1990.
Our Units
At Indicators group of companies we believe in providing our customers the best quality. We practice using high-throughput machineries in our factories for large-scale manufacture of our products. Our factories operate in various branches such as Uttarpara and Memari.
